July 25, 1967

The Honorable Ivan Allen, Jr.
Mayor, City of Atlanta

City Hall

Atlanta, Georgia

Dear Mayor Allen:

I am sorry not to have reported earlier on the letter from
Mr. H, O, Hambrick, 386 Patterson Avenue, S. Ee. It taok
a little while to get in touch with him, but Mr. Norman
Lillegard who is a student Interracial Ministerial Intern
working in the Commission office this summer, did call Mr,
Hambrick and discussed his situation with him.

We tried to reassure Mr, Hambrick that if Negroes do move
into a neighborhood, that the city will not permit any
deterioration in services.

We pointed out the fact that there are no legal restrictions
on where anyone may live or buy property, that Mr. Hambrick
and his neighbors by their own concern about their own pro-
perty will determine the condition of their neighborhood,

We asked Mr. Hambrick to stay in touch wath us and to let
us know if we can be of any help to him or his neighbors.

Sincerely,

yi

(Mrs.) Eliza K, Paschall
Executive Director
