THE FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF ATLANTA
We, the Board of Directors of The First National Bank of
Atlanta, do hereby deplore the incidents of violence which have
occurred recently in Atlanta.
That these reckless and unwarranted disturbances did not
get entirely out of hand was due, we feel, to the wisdom, courage
and steadying influence of responsible white and Negro leadership
which we do hereby commend.
Especially do we salute the Mayor as head of law and
order for his courage and the police for their devotion to duty.
Now Therefore Be It Resolved, That these sentiments be
delivered to the Mayor of Atlanta with our pledge of cooperation
in all matters affecting the good of Atlanta and contributing to
harmony between the races.
