Dear Mayor Allen,
Though I have not in the past agreed with
many of your political stands, I hasten at this time
to extend to you my sincere appreciation for your
extremely courageous and dedicated behavior during
the awful hours of the riot on Tuesday evening.
Without the leadership which you exhibited,
that terrifying situation could and probably would
have resulted in a much greater tragedy.
You have the heart-felt gratitude of my
family and me.
