Mayor Ivan Allen, Jr.
City Hall
Atlunta, Georgia

Dear Mayor Allen:

It is a very fine thing when a leader takes the stand towards a cause
you recently took and though we are not residents of your fine city, I wanted
to write to tell you how much we admired your courage.

For wany years I have carried on a love affair with the City of Atlanta.
I worked there for tweive years and, of course, we are in easy commuting distance
now. It is a lovely city. The stadium is a masterpiece and all of the other
buildénys that have gone up are to be admired. Looking at the magazine article
on Atianta recently we commented how very peautiful it is ... witn one exce, tion.
Just over tne bridge and in throwing distance of the Capitol is the slum area all
around the stadium. Couldn't this be zoned commercial and motels, fine office
buildings, etc. go up instead? It is so convenient to downtown.

Sincerely,

"Interested"
