Mr. Ivan Allen

Mayor of Atlanta
Atlanta City Hall

68 Mitchell Street, S.W.
Atlanta, Georgia

Dear Mr. Allen:

I am an Atlanta student attending Goucher College majoring
in political science. In relationship to a course I am taking in
state and local government I am writing a paper on the Peyton
Road barricade. I am very much interested in your opinion
concerning this situation. What were the reasons for your action
and why do you consider that the city has the right to errect
barricades? What effect do you think the national attention on
this issue will have on Atlanta's future racial problems and
solutions and on future Atlanta business? What effect do you
think this issue has had on your political influence?

I have been very proud of Atlanta in her racial relations
and hope the rest of the South will follow our good example.
My father who is general manager of Seydell Woolley and Company
has spoken so often of the wonderful fishing trips thet you had,so
that I feel as though I know you too.

My paper has te be turned in by March 8, 1963, so , unfortunately
I have @ time limit. I am enclosing 4 self-stamped envelope for
your convenience. Thank you so much for all your help.
Sincerely yours,

Funan Alackwoldor
