Dear Sir,

As a resident of “tlanta I an voicing a strong protest against the unlegal
lies and immoral practise of block-busting tactics used against the residents
of the Peyton-Utoy *orest Area. To be specific it has beem a common vlace +: 4
practise by negroes to repeatedly ride through the Area and vark in front of
residences then debarking from their car ahd standing by the roadside pointing
out various features of the homes. This undoubtedly is being done so an impress-—
ion will be gained that the owner of said property is considering selling to a
negroe Jn conjunction with this, repeated telephone calls are and have been made
by negro realties to property owners who have posted For Sale and including these
who have repeatedly stated that their homes are not for sale. In all cases
without exception they inferred that it was only a question of time that these
homes would be sold fo negroes as they have ohtained confidential listings in
the area. Careful inquirers by residents of this area have proved that such
confidential listing have not been made. These and other means have been and are
being used.

I therefore strongly urge that you use the powers of your office to stop
these unfair practises that are jeopardizing, which entafls a life savings
and hopes of the citizens of this area. This needless t> say is your bound

moral and legal responsibility as Mayor of the city of Atlanta.
