President

Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
124 Columbia Heights

Brooklyn, New York 11201

Dear Mr. Knorr:

May I first explain that due to contractual agreements the Atlanta Braves
have preference in scheduling events at Atlanta Stadium during the base-
ball season. At no time during the present season have we had a period
of ten consecutive days without an event being scheduled.

Because of this, it has been necessary to consult with the Atlanta
Braves as to the availability of the stadium for ten days during the
1969 season. The Braves have given this matter considerable thought
and have held several inter-organizational meetings concerning the
matter.

It is now the Braves studied opinion that they would be reluctant at
this time to release the stadium for a ten consecutive day period in
1969. This is due not only to the National Baseball League schedule,
but also because of the National Professional Soccer League of which
the Atlanta Chiefs is a member. There are now tentative plans to in-:
crease the soccer schedule, and as mentioned above, the present soccer
schedule does not permit a ten day clear period.

It is with much regret that the above is reported to you. The Authority,
as previously mentioned, is contractually handicapped in this matter, and
at the present time can offer no solution other than a change in dates to
include the early spring or the fall of 1969.

May I add that the Mayor, City of Atlanta, the Atlanta Convention

Bureau and this Authority are extremely interested in having your

meeting here in 1969. It is certainly hoped that something can be
worked out.

Sincerely,

are et
Sidney Scarborough
