Dear Mr. Mayor:
Many letters must surely have come to you
Since the recent explosion of unrest in this great city.
Most of them mst have been complimentary. People respect
courage.
Churchill said, "Never before have so many
owed so mich to so few." He was speaking of the entire
Royal Air Force!
I think Atlanta can say, "Seldom have so
many owed so mich to just one man."
Having had the privilege of growing up with
you during a part of your earlier years, I am not surprised—-
but I am, indeed, grateful to you!
