Honorable Ivan Allen, Jr.
Mayor of Atlanta

City Hall

Atlanta, Georgia

Dear Mayor Allen:

How refreshing it was to read your statement on the
results of the election September 28th.! Every word of it was
true and I think you analyzed the situation exactly. You are
to be commended for having the courage to say it. The pity is
that others in high official position in our State and National
government are silent in the presence of a possible catastrophe

facing Georgia.

As a Georgian I feel ashamed before the world because
of what happened. As a lawyer, I shudder with overwhelming
dismay at the thought that the nominee of the Democratic party
might have an opportunity to appointment more than one-half of
the members of the Georgia Supreme Court. Four of the seven
members of the Court are more than 72 years of age, one is 75.
Even the three youngest members are 62, 60 and 57 years of age
respectively.

Every Georgian will need to search his own conscience
between now and the General Election. As for me, if I must
embrace Maddox to save the Democratic party, it is not worth
saving in Georgia.

I hope I shall have the pleasure of meeting you
sometime.

Sincerely yours,

Greig F Motenese,

Emory F. Robinson
