Dear Mayor Allen:
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your
excellent statement on the election of Lester Maddox.
It was exactly what I felt but was unable to express
in such appropiate language.
I thank God for your leadership every nightand I hope
that your health will hold out so that you may continue
to lead Atlanta in a direction that makes me proud to
say I am from Atlanta when I am out of the state, although
I am now sorry to have to say that I am from the State of
Georgia.
My husband joins me in expressing our thanks and admiration
to you for the very fine job you are doing for the City of
Atlanta, and most especially since the strike of the
City Fireman and the recent riots.
