Dear Ivan:
I simply cannot let the occasion grow stale
without telling you how deeply proud I was of your
brilliant performance before the Congressional Committee
last week. As a former resident of Atlanta I have
been congratulated by many people on the performance
of Atlanta's Mayor. Really, yours was an act of real
statesmanship and farsighted courage. I make this
prediction: that there will be many major businesses
attracted to Atlanta simply on the basis of the kind of
Mayor who presides over its affairs.
My best personal regards to you and Louise.
With deep respect, I am
As ever,
