613 AUDITORIUM FOREMAN NATURE OF WORK This is skilled supervisory work in directing the maintenance activities of a city auditor ium and in overs eeing preparations for coming attractions or events , Work involves planning, supervising and inspecting the work of subordinate pe rs onnel enga ged in maintenance of equipment, routine janitorial tasks, and the setting up of auditorium and arena facilities. Employee receives work sheets f r om audito r ium lessees which outline the desired arrangements for a particul ar show and dir ects subordinates to this end. General instructions are ava ilable from the Auditorium Manager who periodically inspects the cleanliness and condition of the building and makes r ecommenda tions for any imp r ovements that may be necessary. EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED Studies work sheets lis ting r equirements fo r attractions and directs subordinate s in pr eparation for same. Checks auditorium and arena equipment t o insure such equipment is being maintained pr operly; i ssues instructions and orders to correct any disorders . Inspe cts building and pr emis es and r eports any i rregul arites to the Auditor ium Manager . Regulates time of work crews according to times of events held in the auditorium; keeps time rec or ds and other r elated personnel records such as over time and sick leave; makes up va cation schedule. Performs relate d work as r equir ed . DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE , SKILIS AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of the methods, practic es and proce dures involved in auditorium maintenance and phys i cal operation. Thorough knowl edge of the equipment a nd mate r i als us ed in t he maintenance and ope r a t ion of auditorium f a cili ties. Ability t o instruct, assign and supe rvis e the activities of personnel engaged in j anitoria l and r elated t asks. Ability to deal t actfully and courteously with those who use auditorium fa cil ities . Ability to keep ne ces sa r y r ecor ds and make accurate r eports on the work per fo r med . DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERI ENCE Graduati on f rom a standard high school or vocational s chool ; considerable expe r ience in wo r k ass oci a t ed with t he maintenance of auditoriums and rela t e d f acilitie s i ncludi ng s ome supe r vis ory expe rience ; or any equivalent combination of tra i ning and exper ience. �
