THE WHITE HOUSE WASHINGTON March 8, 1965 · Dear Mayor Allen: Thank you for your letter of the 2nd to the President inviting him to participate in two important events corning up in Atlanta - the dedication of the new municipal stadium on July 29th, this year, . and the opening day of major league baseball there in April of l 96 ~ . / The President is appreciative of your interest in writing him about these events and while it is too early to know about the possibilities for the spring of 1966, it is apparent from the schedule that is developing for the summer that he will be unable to accept the July invitation.
