Dear Mr. President: Two of the most important events in the South's distinguished athletic history will be tha dodication of Atla.nta•s great new municipal stadium on July 29, 1965. and the opening day of major league baseball in Atlanta during April, 1966. • It will mean so much more if you could join the people from all over our region to celebrate the South's ability to handle major league sports. While the stadium dedication will be an occasion of great local p:ride. the actual beginning o.f the twenty- five year baseball contract with the £ormer Milwaukee Braves will command more attention a .s it assumes regiorud.., even national scope. Therefore. you may prefer to give more serious consideration to that event.
