I have been greatly disappointed that you had to face the disturbances caused by just a few radicals which tends to overthrow all the fine work that has been done in the negro cormnunity. Your handling of the problem Tuesday could not have been better. We all realize that you acoamplished by your own actions the only possible physical control of the rioters to prevent another "Watts"o Your action will stand in my memory as an act far beyond the call of duty but, I am sure no one can describe what your duty or mine is in such a caseo We all appreciate your fine handling of the situation.
