Many of us wondered what our pa r t s s hould have been in this , Ivan , but , not knowi ng, had to a llow you to take the fie l d alone i n defence of the name and good repu t a t i on of our great city . Your pre s ence at the site until there was no further cause for fear allowed the rest of us to accept the situation with confidence that what did result would result - the law supported and order restored . We want you t o convey our thanks t o our fine police force who themselves could have been more secure in failing to retain constant control of the many and varied facets of such a situation. We all glorit~and are proud of the many compliments now given to you and them by su ch national figures as the Vice Pre sident.
