This includes 1140 Public Housing units under construction and i n planning, plu~ 144 units which are be ing leased as Public Hous ing , In addi tion, 1654 existing units have been re habilitat ed since Oc ~ober, 1966, ,',Qf this number, 1322 units are estimated to be availabl e during 1967 (357 8 s hort of goal ), a nd 51 33 uni ts a r e est i mated t o be available during 1 968 ( 233 above goal). Land Acquisit i on and Rehabilit at i on Soc i al Problems Bus iness Parti cipat i on Publ ic Informat ion I n addition t o Mr. Alexander as Chairman , Dr. Sanford S, Atwood , President of Emory University, and Dr, Benjamin E. Mays, President of Morehouse College, are Co-Chairmen. 4. Mr, Wm, W, Gat es , former Chief Unde rwrit er for FHA in At lanta, serves as Special Adviser to the Hoi1sing Resources Committee and will be a vailable, by appointment, in the Committee off ice, Room 1204 City Hall, to advise and assist Developers and Builders interested in FHA programs, 5. Malcolm D. Jones, Supervisor of Inspection Services , Building Department, is as City staff member and Director of the Committee, He acquaints Developers and Builders with the program and assists them by coordinating with City Departments and other agencies when needed.
