Dear Mr. Whitley:
Your letter requesting information regarding college-level internship
programs in city government has been referred to me by Mr. Dan Sweat,
Deputy Administrator, City of Atlanta.
I have enclosed some material about the Atlanta Urban Corps, which is
a college internship program operating its initial summer program under,
the Mayor's Office of the Gity of Atlanta. Recruitment of college students
for participation in this program was handled on each campus, by both
students and the college Financial Aid Officers, who certified College
Work-Study eligible students to us. Selections were made by students who
were working on a volunteer basis to establish the Urban Corps.
