Dear Mrs. Curtis:

Mayor Allen has directed your letter of July 17 to the Civic
Design Commission, because our Commission is the agency which
initiated interest in the underground street area,

‘Mr. Franklin Garrett of the Coca Cola Company is a member of the
Commission and chairs the committee on the underground city. I
have just talked with him by phone and he has expressed his will-
ingness to guide your group through this area if you can work out
a time which is mutually acceptable. The tour will last approxi-
mately 30 minutes. He offered this service because there is no
formal guide service currently available. You may contact him at
the Coca Cola Company here in Atlanta either by phone or by mail,
Mr, Garrett is especially qualified to do this because he is the
leading historian in matters dealing with Atlanta. In addition,
he is a charming gentlemen. I do not think that it would be a
burden in any sense to bring your sister Cadette Troop, as he

has expressed his willingness to accompany either the small number
or the large number you suggested, I hope that you can work out
arrangements that will be satisfactory to everyone concerned,

On behalf of the Civic Design Commission, I send you and your
troep the very best of geod wishes for a rich and pleasant summer
season,

Cordially yours,

E# hy, LA)

Joseph S. Perrin, Chairman
ATLANTA CIVIC DESIGN COMMISSION
