Dear Mayor Allen:
The City of West Palm Beach extends a cordial invitation to
you and your wife to visit with us on March 11 and 12, 1966,
and help us open the Spring Training season of the Atlanta
Braves.
We plan a small party for you all on the evening of the 11th;
then, on Saturday morning our Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring
an Atlanta Braves Parade and I would appreciate it if you would
join me on the reviewing stand. At 1:30 that afternoon the big
moment arrives when we would like for you to honor us by throwing
out the first ball to start the Atlanta Braves on their campaign
for the World Championship for 1966.
Our downtown Holiday Inn, home of the Braves while they are in
West Palm Beach, has indicated they will be most happy to have
you and Mrs. Allen as their guests while you are in our City.
I sincerely hope you and Mrs. Allen will join us for this
occasion.
