Dear Mayor Allen:
I am writing this short letter to express my admiration
and respect for your conduct in the recent disturbances
on Capitol Avenue. You demonstrated courage, restraint
and judgment which in my opinion brought credit to you
and to our City.
I believe that as a result of your handling of this
incident even your most severe critics will be forced
to re-evaluate you and your administration.
My very best wishes go to you in whatever you choose
for the future, however I hope that you will continue
to give Atlanta the type of leadership it had Tuesday
for many years beyond your present term,
